That forever-growing TBR pile is out of control… so I’m tackling it with a twist: the Hardest Reading Challenge You’ll Ever Do, also known as HRCYED.

If you haven’t heard about it, this challenge was created by Qwordy and launched on July 7, 2024. Tired of repetitive prompts and generic themes, she created a nearly impossible reading challenge where the goal isn’t to finish it—it’s to stretch your reading boundaries. Whether you read 10 books or 100, HRCYED is all about discovering something new.

📚 Here’s what I’m reading for my July entry into the Hardest Reading Challenge You’ll Ever Do:

My July TBR:

Caught Up by Navessa Allen

https://a.co/d/a9UGkO9 Book 2 of Into Darkness follows Nico “Junior” and his struggles with love, family, and forever looking over his shoulder.

Pandemonium in Peoria by Rochelle Bradley & CJ Warrent

https://rochellebradley.com/book/pandemonium-in-peoria/ What happens when you show up to a book convention with friends, excited to meet your favorite author only to find them murdered? This secnd chance romance, comedy, murder mystery is going to be fun!

YouTube for Authors by Dale L. Roberts

https://a.co/d/2Gv5MAq This nonfiction book goes beyond YouTube and deep dives into a different for of marketing that can be used on any social media platform.

Sunrise of the Reaping by Suzanne Collins

https://a.co/d/8UCEfU6 I have so been looking forward to Haymitch’s story, even though I know it’s a sad one. The latest in the Hunger Games series is going to be epic.

I won’t be completing the whole list (that’s not the point), but participating in The Hardest Reading Challenge You’ll Ever Do is already reshaping the way I pick my books. Want to join me? Let’s take on the impossible—one book at a time.

In case you missed it: July Snippets & Spoilers newsletter

🧦 I’m Free!

June nearly took me out—with The Witch’s Sword edits, the AWC presentation, and the All Call Indie relaunch all hitting at once. But now? I’m officially deadline-free and basking in full-on Dobby is free energy.

📚 July = Reading Binge

With my schedule clear, I’m diving into a massive reading month. Between library finds, Kickstarter deliveries, and some regency ebooks I couldn’t resist, the TBR pile is thriving. I’m also participating (casually) in the Hardest Reading Challenge You’ll Ever Do (HRCYED), just for fun and tracking.

🗡️ Book Updates

  • The Witch’s Mirror ARC signups go live in October
  • The Witch’s Sword ARC signups are coming in November (beta readers are emotionally destroyed, sorry not sorry)
  • The Witch’s Dagger is next, with Habil already scheming her way into the spotlight

🔥 Extras & What’s Coming

More exclusive deleted scenes are on the way—romantic, emotional, and a little unhinged. I’m also deciding whether to revive writing sprints, but rest assured: the chaos continues.

📢 All Call Indie is live!

Check out this post for the details and see what’s coming!

As always, hoard your books with love and keep reading!
